SIXTH GRADE GOING TO SEVENTH GRADE

You should check with your physician or the school nurse to make sure your child's immunizations are up to date.

7th GRADERS MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING IMMUNIZATIONS BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES IN AUGUST IN ADDITION TO ALL OTHER REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS:

1. Meningococcal Vaccine

2. Varicella Vaccine: 2 doses are required. Most students have already received the first vaccine and now a second one is required for seventh grade. If your child had the chicken pox disease, the varicella immunization is not necessary. Documentation of disease date must be provided.

3. Tdap: This immunization replaces the TD (tetanus booster). This immunization will be required if it has been more than 5 years since your child's last immunization that contained tetanus.

Please also refer to the link above to the Texas Department of State Health Services for updates to vaccination requirements.
