WILDCAT TRACK & FIELD

POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

    1. Track practices will be held daily (Monday-Wednesday) each morning, beginning at 6:45 a.m. until 8:10 a.m.  We will practice every day regardless of weather.

    2. Before practice, supervision will be provided at 6:30 a.m.  Please arrange to drop your child off on Wildcat Loop. NO SUPERVISION WILL BE PROVIDED BEFORE 6:30 a.m.

    3. A parent/guardian/doctor note must excuse all missed practices.  Please provide the excused note at the next attended practice.  If 2 or more practices are missed between meets, qualifying for the next meet will be extremely difficult.  Any undocumented (without excuse note) absence will be considered unexcused. Any unexcused absence will result in the athlete not being allowed to compete in the next meet.

    4. If  you are late to practice your parent/guardian will need to write a note as to why you were late.  Please have them sign the note. 3 tardies will be an unexcused absence.

    5. Three unexcused absences during the course of the season may result in suspension from or dismissal from the team.

    6. All meet participants will ride the bus as a group from school to the track meet.  If a student-athlete wishes to leave the meet with their parent/guardian, the team member and parent/guardian must visit with his/her coach and sign out.  Student athletes are NOT allowed to leave the meet without the parent/guarding signing them out first.

    7. Each team member will be issued a set of sweats to use for the entire season.  Spikes will be available to those athletes whose track or field event requires them.   A meet top, meet bottom, and travel bag will be issued prior to the track meet, and returned at the end of the season.  It will be the student’s responsibility to maintain proper care and upkeep of any equipment issued. The sweats may NOT be worn during the actual school day except for athletic period.  Any loss/damage of equipment or uniforms issued to the student-athlete will be the financial responsibility of the athlete and their family.

    8. Parents/Guardians, please note that track meets take preference over non-KISD athletic events.

    9. All athletes are to conduct themselves appropriately when traveling to/from track meets.  Failure to exhibit proper behavior that damages the integrity of the Wunderlich Athletic Program will constitute disciplinary action by the school and athletic program.  Cheating, stealing, and fighting are automatic removals from the program with no recourse.
